Day #21 - Week 3 Evaluation

Matt's Evaluation Week 3:

Weight: 190.2 lbs (same as last week)
Body fat%: 10.33%
Body fat lbs: 19.65 lbs
Lean lbs: 170.55 lbs
Pinch test (millimeters): Chest - 5, Abdominal - 16, Tricep - 9, Subscapular - 11 (up 1mm), Suprailiac - 8 (down 1mm), Midaxillary - 8 (down 1mm)
Circumference measurements (inches): Bicep - 14.5, Flexed Bicep - 15.75 (down .25 inches), Chest - 41 (down .75), Waist - 35.5, Calf - 15.25, Thigh - 23.5 (up .25 inches)
*Note: Waist measurement is around the broadest part of my waist; right below the belly button where I carry all of my fat. It is my goal to reduce this measurement significantly.

Analysis:
Trend continues to be slow but positive. This week I began to notice some increasingly visible vascularity right over my hip bone, just below my waist line. My suprailiac measurement decreased slightly, which is consistent with what I've seen. My pinch in the subscapular went up 1mm, but it could be measurement error. I'm trying to be as honest with the numbers as possible, so if it goes up, that is what we use. The only measurement I feel is way off is the chest, but it is possible that because I'm sick (caught a little cold), my lung capacity is reduced. I would expect this measurement to go back up next week. Overall, a decent eval considering I haven't done that great on food this week. One week to go to see if I can reach my initial goal of 10% in 4 weeks.

Leigh's Evaluation Week 3:

Weight: 119.6 lbs (up .2 from last week)
Body fat%: 24.45% (up .3% from last week)
Body fat lbs: 29.24 lbs (up .41 lbs from last week)
Lean lbs: 90.36 lbs (down .21 lbs from last week)
Pinch test (millimeters): Chest - 11 (down 1mm), Abdominal - 26 (up 2mm), Tricep - 20 (up 2mm), Subscapular - 14 (down 1mm), Suprailiac - 16, Midaxillary - 19
Circumference measurements (inches): Bicep - 10.5, Hip - 37, Waist - 31 (up .25 inches), Calf - 13, Thigh - 20

No photos again this week. Leigh is sick, feeling a lot worse than me, so she didn't want to take photos. We'll get them next week.

Analysis:
This eval makes a little more sense to me. I think the measurements were a little off last week and this week is more of a correction. Also, Leigh is dealing with female issues this week, so she feels a little "bloated." I still think she'll lose a few pounds and be down closer to 117 on her next eval.

Today's Workout:

I've got a little cold today, so I debated even working out. As I expected, I was a little weaker than last week. I don't think I'm losing any strength, just under the weather slightly. anyway, instead of going into all of it, I was only able to get 10 reps of 100lbs on the first set. I've been getting 11, and almost 12. Aside from that I wasn't off by much.

Scripture for the Day:

Proverbs 13:18 - "Poverty and shame will come to him who neglects discipline, But he who regards reproof will be honored."

At church today (Journey Church in Millbrook), the message today was about how taking just a little bit of time each day to do something worthwhile has a cumulative effect. This is an investment in something important. At the same time, avoiding the things we should pay attention to has a cumulative effect. This concept applies to your spiritual walk, finances, exercise, relationships...you name it. We should be disciplined to invest time each day in things of importance. What is one area you can invest in each day?
